The Finance and Accountancy division at SF Recruitment are currently looking for a Financial Controller for our family run client based in Leicester. The right candidate will lead all technical accounting across the business and report into the Group CEO.
Responsibilities include:
- Corporate/Group Finance: Driving of corporate/group finance and accounting to develop key financial metrics for the company and forecast cash/liquidity needs
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Creating and executing on an analytical framework to overlay the company's strategic goals with capital needs
- Prepare, monitor and deliver timely and accurate Group of Companies capital, cashflow, P&L and Balance Sheet areas for the monthly management accounts
- Confidently and independently respond to queries relating to month end and full year results to CEO, Head of FESL and to the auditors during year end audit
- Engage in financial reporting activities by overseeing a team of 6 in the accounting team
- Prepare all VAT returns for UK ensuring compliance with HMRC and liaise and resolve any queries
- Financial analysis with particular focus on cash flow forecasting
- Build relationship with senior stakeholders, presenting financial information to the board
- Work with teams across the business to validate reported numbers, and provide explanations for variance to budget / forecast
- Ensure stakeholders CEO, Head of FESL & functional leads are kept fully informed of the reported position, the insight gained and any opportunities or risks therein
- Take ownership and management of the financial risk register
Skills and experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Commercially driven & experience in supporting a team of junior finance professionals
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility and willingness to work on various initiatives simultaneously
- Experience in controls implementations and business process improvements
- Communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business
