Financial Accountant
Location: Preston
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance Team to oversee the day to day running of the finance functionwithin Xyfil Limited ensuring compliance with its legal and accounting obligations. The successful candidate will budget and monitor the company(s) day to day performance ensuring that all income and expenditure is accounted for and appropriately reported.
You will be providing financial support to the Finance Manager and all other relevant stakeholders throughout the group.
We are a Preston-based manufacturer and producer of some of the most diverse ranges of products, so there will never be a boring day in the office! Our range of products vary from our award winning vape e-liquids, to CBD drops and cutting-edge hand sanitisers, with plenty more in the pipeline to come. Within this role, you'll be working across national and international markets including the Middle East, Europe with potential to grow into more markets.
Financial Accountant Duties:
  • Oversee the preparation of the company's financial management accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
  • To support the Finance Director in developing and maintaining all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective & efficient financial management within the company.
  • To support the Finance Director in constantly reviewing the financial systems within the business to ensure that they are as efficient as they can be.
  • To analyse and make recommendations to reduce the costs of the business without affecting the operation.
  • To monitor and report on the cash flow of the group in a timely manner.
  • To ensure the designated Limited company(s) is complying with all the financial statutory regulations i.e. HMRC/Auditors.
  • To communicate effectively & timely with the Directors of the business and other key stakeholders.
  • To help drive performance within designated company(s) by providing reports/ideas/guidance to members of the senior leadership team.
  • Supervise finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed so that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
  • Lead by example, promoting the Groups values and expected behaviours to fellow team members.
  • To maintain good relationships with key external stakeholders i.e. Bank, Auditors, HMRC, Suppliers.
  • To contribute to the achievement of the company's business objectives by offering strategic guidance for the business in the form of producing Forecasts & Reports.
  • To support other departments within the business by supporting them with management information to enable them to achieve their objectives in line with the groups overarching strategy.

Financial Accountant Requirements:
  • Either qualified or part qualified - ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or Qualified by Experience (finalist level).
  • Good educational / academic background e.g., degree level.
  • At least 3 years' financial supervision experience and of working within a physical good business using accounting and other systems - ideally including some SME systems e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage.
  • Proven ability to offer strategic guidance; report on this and to see it through
  • Ability to rapidly improve this area including working on own initiative with a "can do" and helpful / positive attitude.
  • Great organisational and team management skills.
  • A resilient, determined personality - plenty of challenges to overcome internally and externally!
  • The ability to cope with a lot of change - in systems, processes and business models as the business rapidly develops.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively across a diverse internal team and customer / supplier base.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of numeracy.
  • Good knowledge and experience of Excel & other standard software.
  • Capability to provide accurate and timely information and data.
