Eurofins Environment Testing Australia New Zealand is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 200 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Auckland and Christchurch, with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.

Job Description

Eurofins Environment testing Australia & New Zealand is currently looking for an Assistant Finance Analyst to fill a newly created position to join our National Business line support services team at our head office in Dandenong South, Melbourne. The Assistant Finance Analyst will work closely with the Commercial Finance Manager of the Environment Testing business in Australia & New Zealand in order to manage the financials of the companies with the business line.

Position Responsibilities & Objectives
  • Assist in periodic detailed financial analysis and reporting reviews.
  • Identify budget variances and provide detailed review for operational managers.
  • Maintain integrity and consistency in financial processes & reporting.
  • Generate ad-hoc detailed reviews and periodic trend reports for performance matrices.
  • Assist with controls on accounting processes to maintain accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Recommend & assist with expense management initiatives to prevent overspending.
  • Assist in preparation of models to facilitate budget & forecasting by operational managers.
  • Assist with consolidation and upload of operational budgets to TM1.
  • Provide hands on assistance as and when required to AR, AP, HR and Payroll functions.
  • Evaluate current financial processes and recommend improvements.
  • Use appropriate statistical and analytical methods to perform & present financial analysis.
  • Additional accounting/finance related tasks as per required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information, investment decisions, or any other tasks assigned by the organization.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of Bachelor's degree in accounting, business finance, or related discipline
  • Ideally working towards CA or CPA qualification
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a finance or accounting function

  • Computer skills (expert in excel / powerpoint)
  • Ideally, knowledge of TM1 or other budgeting software
