As a Finance Trainee you will work within the Financial Accounting team who are responsible for the reporting of Next Retail Ltd. This includes the Retail stores, Online sales and now Total platform. We are the coordinators of the month end processes, which includes the reporting of actuals and forecasts on a monthly basis. Additionally there is the production/coordination of budgets twice a year.

Focussed and dynamic, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge within the team, working across the full financial reporting process, while receiving study support for your exams.

About the role:

You’ll begin your career at Next by taking responsibility for managing a range of transactions including the intercompany recharges, the central Next Retail balance sheet reconciliations, national stats submission, charities reporting and the supporting on the budget process.

With strong attention to detail your focus will be to ensure that information is promptly recorded and reconciled and assist with our month end reporting processes.

In a varied role you will have the opportunity to work through the full financial cycle and, during the Group’s year end, you will support the wider team with the consolidation process and the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts.

On a monthly basis you will have responsibility for ensuring all Intercompany recharges are processed and all balance sheet reconciliations are completed.

Over time the role and breadth of work will provide you with opportunities to work across the full range of accounting, including CSO reporting, budgeting and preparing statutory accounts.

We will also provide you with time and costs to support you as you study for your professional accountancy qualification.
