We have an opening for an experienced, qualified accounting professional with exposure to the asset management industry to join our team in Singapore. The candidate will be ambitious, highly motivated and seeking to fully recognise their potential. The role will consist of enhancing the firm’s various service lines to the investment funds industry such as financial reporting, audit and assurance.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Asia Regional Head.

The candidate’s responsibilities will include managing junior staff, day to day decision making and assisting with the overall strategic decisions of the firm. Opportunities will also exist for the successful candidate to gain exposure to business development activities and to make a positive contribution to the growth of the firm.

Formed in 2007, the firm has in excess of 100 staff including 45 qualified accountants. Our Singapore office, established in 2014, currently consists of 15 staff including 7 qualified accountants.

We are focused on delivering specialist solutions to the investment funds industry globally. Our core service line is financial reporting for investment funds. Additional service lines include audit, assurance, liquidation, and specialist taxation services.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead teams of junior staff in successful delivery of financial reporting, audit and assurance engagements to clients in the investment funds industry;
  • Operate as a relationship manager for clients; able to respond to and resolve queries or escalate where necessary;
  • Act as liaison with various internal /external parties;
  • Assisting directors and partners on specialist financial reporting and assurance projects;
  • Researching technical queries on IFRS, US GAAP and other accounting standards;
  • Train and support junior team members in their development;
  • Participate in business development activities including preparation of fee proposals, attending client pitches, and attending conferences/networking events.

Skills required for the role

  • CA/CPA/ACA/ACCA qualified essential;
  • Experience of preparing IFRS and US GAAP financial statements, ideally for investment funds;
  • Experience in performing and managing financial reporting and/or assurance engagements;
  • Experience of the asset management industry a distinct advantage;
  • Experience in working in a large audit environment a distinct advantage;
  • Excellent team working skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to handle deadline pressures and flexible approach;
  • Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
