Corporate & Finance Manager

ShipsFocus is a startup studio (aka venture studio) specialised in the maritime commerce. We have found an acute gap in successful innovation & adoption of digital technology in the maritime industry, and over the last 5 years developed the world's first maritime-dedicated venture studio. Aggregating such rare combination of resources under one roof, the studio can effectively & efficiently (1) offer problem-solving solution development; (2) implement adoption strategies to generate commercial tractions; (3) incorporate startups and build teams; and (4) raise fund for scaling.

Your Role:

We are building our management team for the next lapse and are looking for a forward-looking Corporate & Finance Manager. The role is both operational and managerial in nature, helping the studio maximise its shareholders' value (thus also its start-ups') through long & short-term planning and execution of various strategies. The right candidate will have direct impact on the corporate & financial operations and development of the company (which includes both the studio and its startups), and be a part of the Management Team, whose success is reflected in a highly successful studio that delivers startups at scale with solutions that transform maritime commerce.

Job Requirements:

• You are energetic and driven in the related fields with at least 6 years of experience, ready to start at a Manager or Senior Manager level
• You are likely to be in your 30's and keen to be part of a most progressive Management Team to bring the company into the next 10-year lapse
• You should have a strong corporate and finance background, astute in company accounting and capital structuring, budgeting, working capital, invested capital, RoIC, etc.
• You should know valuation modelling, and can develop, implement & monitor appropriate performance metrics for corporate deal-making including fund raising and M&A.
• Experience in startup ecosystems and fund raising will be big plus.
• The studio being a largest investor (initially at least) in the startups it creates, you should be able to help us see and seize opportunities and overcome challenges in managing the financial structure and relationships between the studio and its startups
