About the program: Generation Victoria (GenV)

GenV is a world-first initiative that transforms the whole of the State of Victoria into a single dynamic health and solutions platform, breaking down barriers in research to solve pressing questions and translating that into tangible actions that can improve the health, development and well- being of children and younger adults (their parents). One of the world's largest birth cohorts, GenV will be open to all 170,000 babies born in Victoria over two full years. Its design comprises consent; use of existing data and Biosamples; augmented with GenV-specific measurement (the 'ePhenome'); and a design to maximise its multi-use potential eg to support trials, registries, place and community, discovery and health services research at the population level.

The Opportunity:

GenV is implementing advanced, large-scale systems for capturing, structuring, and securely managing a range of administrative and clinical data, selections of which will later be made available, in de-identified form to researchers. The Agile Business Analyst - Data Design delivers business, functional and system analysis to help define the requirements for GenV's data systems in collaboration with the relevant business and technical stakeholders to support the successful delivery of the MCRI GenV project.

  • Playing a key role in designing our Raw Data Store, Research Repository and other systems involved in storing and managing GenV's data assets.
  • Decomposing required features to support iterative delivery of functional capabilities.
  • Developing acceptance criteria using BDD (Behavioural Driven Development).
  • Ensuring user stories are clear and concise and articulate business value.
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis using a range of techniques to clarify and remove obstacles to delivery and improving delivery speed
  • Analysing, document, and improve business processes using business process mapping techniques
  • Supporting the team to remove obstacles and identify pragmatic ways to generate outcomes

Selection Criteria:
  • 5+ years BA experience including business and functional requirements elicitation and systems analysis.
  • 2+ years' experience working with the implementation of data management and analytics solutions, preferably in a research or health context.
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum delivery teams in the role of Agile Business Analyst
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and Dashboards (Tableau is a plus)
  • Experience in Stakeholder Management, with the ability to collaborate with and influence key stakeholders and teams.

What's in it for you:
  • 12 Month Full Time Contract (Possible Extension).
  • Attractive Salary $140,000 + Super + (with Salary Packaging).
