About the opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a Business Analyst, ideally with Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience to join the Forensic & Analytical Science Services (FASS), Information Communications Technology Team for a period of up to 5 years.

Forensic & Analytical Science Service (FASS) specialises in providing independent and objective forensic analysis to the criminal and coronial justice systems, as well as quality scientific analysis that contributes to community health and safety. Our services include illicit drug analysis, forensic and drug toxicology, chemical criminalistics, forensic biology and DNA, forensic medicine, environmental toxicology, and environmental microbiology.

What you'll be doing
The Business Analyst is responsible for the effective provisioning of relevant and accurate analysis of current and proposed information systems, projects, policies and procedures, supporting the delivery of services and projects within the Forensic and Analytical Science Service (FASS).The Business Analyst will work closely with the business leads initially with our Forensic Medicine Department to deliver a state wide Forensic Medicine Information System.

  • Relevant qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent work experience in a project management or business analysis role. Industry recognised certification such as Prince2, Agile
  • Well-developed written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated experience in consulting with a variety of stakeholders to document business requirements, define non-functional requirements, data models, future state visioning, functional design and work directly with business teams to translate these requirements into IT solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, and ability to balance complex and multiple issues whilst managing project scope, along with demonstrated experience in Gap Analysis, Requirements Management, Business Process Re-engineering and Business Analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in liaising effectively and working collaboratively with a range of business stakeholders to facilitate co-operation, support and establish strong effective working relationships in achieving agreed outcomes.
  • Proven organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise, multi task, take initiative and meet strict timeframes within a complex, challenging and changing work environment.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience in project management methodologies such as Agile, Prince2 and SCRUM, as well as experience in project management tools such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  • Well developed functional understanding and experience of application architectures and their inter operability such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 & Power Apps across health/pathology and/or corporate environments.
  • Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
