THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a passionate transfer pricing analyst to assist in the delivery of transfer pricing projects for our clients. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of transfer pricing and related international tax, and will be eager to embrace the RSM culture and embody our values in everything he/she does.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in a business related or legal field  (minimum Upper Second)
  • CPA/ACCA qualification

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  • Two (2) years of experience in tax or transfer pricing at a busy legal or professional services firm
  • Worked in a multicultural environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing and filing of tax computations and returns for review by the team lead.
  • Ensuring that approval for filing tax returns is received from the clients and assisting in the filing of the returns.
  • Preparing estimation of penalties and interest on late payment or late filing of returns.
  • Provide assistance to prepare late return notifications and assisting the team lead to inform clients of the same.
  • Preparing/reviewing instalment and final tax payment notifications for review, assisting to advise the clients of the same and ensuring that all payments channelled through the firm are remitted on a timely basis.
  • Assisting in following up change of details on the tax platform including the change of financial year-end.
  • Assisting in reconciling the tax account and dividend tax account to the audit file and ensuring that the clients’ tax status with the revenue authority is current.
  • Assisting in responding to revenue authority tax demands and following up regularising clients’ tax status.
  • Assisting in making waiver applications arising from statement reconciliations and following up on the same.
  • Assist in making and following up tax refund applications.
  • Attending to tax queries and correspondence from the clients and the revenue.
  • Assisting in applying for and obtaining tax identification numbers or tax compliance/clearance certificates.

OUTCOMES

  • Managing an assigned portfolio of clients and delivering high quality tax compliance services.
  • Work as an effective team member to complete assigned tasks within the budgeted time and communicating engagement progress on a daily basis.
  • Effective response to review notes within 24 hours or within agreed timelines.
  • Identification of engagement issues and escalating these in a timely manner to enable resolution.
  • Effective documentation and drafting of reports in compliance with performance standards.
  • Effective oversight of tax associates and semi seniors assigned to engagements, providing guidance and first review of deliverables.
  • Wrap up of tax reports, within agreed timelines.
  • 24 hour response to client correspondence/queries or within such other agreed timelines, keeping clients updated on the engagement progress on a regular basis.
  • Actively developing technical skills and complying with the firm’s CPD requirements.
  • Understanding the procedures followed by the revenue authority and creating rapport with the revenue authority.
  • Developing working relationships with clients.
  • Assist in preparing the proposals specific to the request for proposals.
