We are recruiting for a Financial Analyst to join our Financial Management team.
Working as an integral part of the Care Group Finance Team, you will provide key analytical support to assist the Care Group in meeting it's financial objectives.
This role is an exciting opportunity for you to help forge the future of service delivery within UHMB.
We offer a flexi-time working policy and also currently have staff who work both from home and within our modern Lancaster based office space.
Training and development support is provided to all members of the finance team and a study package is available for relevant industry qualifications such as AAT, CIMA, & ACCA. This role also offers career progression opportunities within UHMB and the wider NHS.

You will report directly to the Deputy Care Group Finance Manager and will support them in the provision of first class financial management advice.
We are looking for individuals with drive, the ability to deliver within tight deadlines and someone who is capable of providing excellent analytical support with the ability to explain complex financial information to both finance and non-finance staff in a concise and meaningful way.
We welcome applicants with suitable experience from an NHS background and those from other sectors.
Person specification Education & Qualifications Essential criteria
- AAT technician or equivalent level / experience.
Desirable criteria
- Studying towards CCAB qualification
Experience Essential criteria
- General accounting experience and adhering to deadlines.
- Use of computerised financial systems.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in the NHS.
- Experience using the Oracle Ledger system.
Skills Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the functions and operation of accounting ledgers.
- Extensive ability for numeric interpretation and manipulation of data.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail, whilst working under pressure.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of all basic functions of the Financial Management Department.
- Advanced experience in the use of Microsoft Excel.
