An apprenticeship is a nationally recognised qualification that you can study while you work. It offers a combination of relevant work experience, achievement of a professional qualification and the development of skills and behaviours required to be a competent professional in your chosen field. At BDO this relates to becoming a professional Accountant or Tax professional. Candidates who hold an undergraduate degree are not eligible for this scheme, but are welcome to explore our graduate programmes.

You’ll join either our Audit&Assurance, Advisory, Tax or Business Services&Outsourcing department (we call them ‘streams’) where you’ll study for your professional qualification. During your programme you’ll have the opportunity to explore some of the different specialities within your stream, and potentially gain exposure to other areas of the business. This will allow you to grow your portfolio of skills, and experience a breadth of opportunity to increase your future options and build a platform to develop your career.

If you successfully complete an apprenticeship at BDO you will gain two qualifications/certifications: your professional qualification and the apprenticeship. At the same time, you’ll gain invaluable experience in a commercial environment, working on real business projects alongside leading industry professionals.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Three A-levels or equivalent at A* to C excluding General Studies and Extended Projects (obtained or predicted)
• A* to C in Maths and English at GCSE/Scottish Standards or equivalent (non-UK qualifications also considered)
