Senior Risk Manager (Audit & Compliance)

Amazon's Transportation Risk & Compliance (TRC) team identifies and mitigates risk in a rapidly growing and complex, global environment. To support the business, our primary mission is to perform independent and objective, risk-based assessments of Amazon business partners' and business units' activities and related controls with the goal of improving operations, compliance, and risk management. TRC is seeking a high-performing Risk Escalations Manager to join the team to manage critical and high impact escalations. In this role, you deep dive series of events leading to the escalations, actions taken to mitigate the issue prior to the escalation, provide summary, and work with responsible parties to close out corrective action plans.
The TRC team ensures that all Amazon transportation business units meet the regulations. In order to ensure an effective program is in place, it is necessary to validate each business has identified their regulatory responsibilities and established effective processes, controls, and self-testing to understand current status of compliance and identify gaps. This team will also assist in risk ranking and mitigation of gaps identified throughout the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 7-8 years of Risk, Audit and/or Compliance experience
• Minimum 3 years of escalation management and / or continuous improvement experience
• Lead and develop auditing third party contractors.
• Outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Exceptional attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work with virtual teams with the highest levels of team spirit and integrity
• Proven ability to analyse and interpret information received
• Excellent knowledge of Office tools (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Demonstrated research and investigation skills
• Experience in handling confidential data
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time (post Covid)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Audit experience related to escalation business processes, financial risk mitigation, program compliance, or internal audits.
• Escalation management experience
• Professional auditing qualification like ISO Lead Auditor with 4-5 years leading in third party contractor underwriting or supplier vetting.
• Demonstrable problem-solving, and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment.
• Experience in vetting and risk management a plus.
• Ability to deep dive and identify opportunities to improve performance and processes.

• Ability to drive successful partnerships with external teams to execute tactic initiatives
