Traineeship Role Description:
This position sits within the Singapore Global Middle Office Team in Finance Division and will fully engage in the daily operations activities exposed to the GM business and different products. This role will require strong teamwork and collaboration with both front office business & other control functions.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Learn about how Product Control plays an integral role in setting up a control environment around the revenue generating capacities of the firm
2. Understand the overall control & governance framework and its relevance
3. Learn how p&l production and review of Structured Rates and FX products is done. Understand how different reconciliations act as key control
4. Effective management and professional interaction with stakeholders.
Competencies to learn:
1. Acquire knowledge on day to day functioning of Product Control function and how it connects with business and other corporate functions
2. Understand the guiding principle & overarching controls established within Product Control extending challenge to business on the profit and loss numbers they generate day in and out
3. Gain knowledge of different Rates & FX products and how they profit and loss made from these products is accounted and explained by Product Control
4. Able to develop & maintain a collaborative working relationship with partnering support functions & business stakeholders in the Front Office.
Duration of Traineeship/ Attachement Offered: 6 months
Approved Training Allowance:
Fresh Graduate - $2,500
Non-Mature Mid-Career Individuals - $2,000
Mature Mid-Career Individuals - $2,250
Education Requirement for Traineeship under SGUnited Traineeship:
a) Graduated in calendar years 2019 to 2021 from Universities, or other educational institutions (e.g., private universities and overseas institutions); or
b) Graduated from the mentioned institutions and completed National Service between 2019 to 2021
This position is open for both recent graduates and mid-career individuals (mature and non-mature). Graduates interested in this position should possess a University Degree. Mid-career individuals from any qualification level can apply.
