About us

Technology Solutions (TS) provides a range of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) services for the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). The branch sets the strategic direction of ICT in alignment with the business direction. TS is responsible for ICT strategies, initiatives, architectures, policies, projects, applications and infrastructure services in a multi-sourced environment.

About the role

As a member of project/program delivery team, the Business Analyst will provide business analysis experience and expertise across part or all of the project lifecycle for assigned projects.

In this role you will:
  • deliver major and minor work packages focussed on Business Process Re-engineering and Business Process Modelling, Data and Financial Modelling, seeking to create business value
  • participate in selection and ensure appropriate use of methods, tools, techniques (in waterfall, iterative and agile) for business analysis approaches, including producing, maintaining and implementing the appropriate business analysis documentation and plans
  • prepare business cases, translating client requirements into highly quality project briefs
  • report on the progress of assigned tasks, identify and communicate risks and issues as they arise, and work collaboratively to mitigate and resolve them, respectively.

About you

As our ideal candidate you will have:
  • previous experience in developing and understanding process diagrams, use-cases, data flows, ER diagrams, user screen designs, and related as necessary
  • the ability to effectively use workplace tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • demonstrated knowledge and experience in the planning, workshop facilitation, identification/elicitation, documentation, review and analysis to produce business cases, business requirements, business processes (as-is and to-be), and related project documentation as necessary
  • an understanding of and experience in the Corrections environment is advantageous.
