Financial Controller

Gifford and Partners are working in partnership with an international SME seeking to appoint a European Financial Controller. Working closely with the European Finance Director, the role as Financial Controller will not only oversee the financial stewardship of the European divisions but also the UK finance team and form a partnership approach with non-financial stakeholders including divisional MDs, senior management, and the board. The role will be responsible for, and not limited to;

Divisional accounting and consolidation
Month-end and annual accounts/returns production
Commentary and variance analysis to group lead
Financial control, system efficiencies including finalising a new system/ERP upgrade
Management and coordination of third-party stakeholders including external auditors, banking partners, legal representatives amongst others.
Close working relations with FP&A departments in order to produce insightful management information and to understand and improve business performance.
Management and financial analysis of stock, including financial modeling to support strategic bids and future business acquisitions.

Essentially this role is targeting a technically strong ACA/ACCA/ACMA qualified accountant with post-qualified experience. Taken as a given at this level, you will possess excellent communication skills both verbally and via written report. A proven management ability will lend to the success of this role with the expectation that the European Financial Controller will also deputise in the absence of the European FD. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to multi-task and prioritise key activities that are deadline-driven.
