This new, acquisitive & rapidly growing organisation are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the business in an operationally focused reporting role, with the autonomy to grow & develop a team and processes as the business continue to grow.
Reporting to an impressive CFO in a challenging but rewarding environment, your core duties will include;
Work closely with the business on priority initiatives
Provide insight and feedback for continuous planning
Deliver accurate and timely management accounts with forward looking analysis on key trends including performance against budget and forecast.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Update rolling weekly 13 week cashflow forecasts.
Support the budget and forecast process, prepare financial analysis and update modelling as required to deliver the group reporting timetable.
Discuss and implement actions plans as required to providing insight to monitor risks and opportunities within the reporting.
Providing analysis and deliver insight that links financial reports to business strategies
Improving the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on business performance
Providing effective commercial procedures, initiating change or challenge, to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered
Building partnerships and strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams and providing financial support to commercial decision making
Delivering analysis and insight on business opportunities; providing options and scenarios for business decisions
Conducting market research studies and analysis to assess current market trends
Presenting financial performance, full year forecasts and budget variances including understanding financial opportunities and risk
Challenging current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible
Attend Operational Reviews and provide financial update as required.
Dealing with and working through issues of conflict and operational challenges with project teams and other stakeholders
Understand the cost drivers of the business and provide insight to the non-finance members
Review and approval of all Bacs authorisation payroll request provided by the Payroll/HR team prior to Central Finance payment authorisation
Ensure adequate controls are in place to protect margins, monitor stock levels ensuring both internal and external controls are in place and are timely and accurately reported
Assisting with year-end audit
Bring the numbers to life
Ad hoc analysis and project work as requiredKey requirements;
Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification.
2-3 years' experience in a similar Financial Controller role
Experience within Sport or Hospitality would be beneficial
Excellent commercial acumen and project management skills
The ability to influence key decision makers and think strategically
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
Team player with pronounced numerical affinity and accuracy
Previous experience with ERP systems (Exchequer) an advantage
