We are looking for a new colleague to join Experian Global Finance Services (GFS). Recently voted as one of the Top 20 Shared Service Organisations by SSON analytics, we are committed to continuous improvement. Global Finance Services is the fastest growing area of the Experian finance team with c 50% of the Experian Finance roles within this organisation. Global Finance Services is based in 4 main locations: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Sofia, Bulgaria; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Santiago, Chile with satellite offices in Nottingham, UK and Costa Mesa, US.

We are searching for Senior Accounting and Control Manager to join our Global Finance Center.

The GFS Sofia Accounting and control (A&C) team is the point of contact for many of the region's key financial processes such as month-end closing for revenue and costs, internal and external compliance, statutory audits and overall controls environment. It is an exciting and fast paced function with visibility across several business areas and senior stakeholders.

On this role you will manage a GFS Accounting and control finance operations, SOX control framework design and implementation aligned to Group requirements, deliver on various regional controllership activities, and regular deliverables per controllership cycle. You will be also be responsible for centralising additional activities into Experian Bulgaria GFS centre and optimising these processes thereafter and embed high performance and continuous improvement culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for A&C service delivery
  • Leading finance teams through designing and implementing a Manager's structure.
  • Leading as a role model, to create the right environment for knowledge sharing and working together as well as monitoring clear metrics to measure the success of the overall team.
  • Manage strategic, improvement and controls KPI's and take accountability and ownership of issues that arise.
  • Enhance and support GFS A&C delivery with needed quality and within timelines set
  • Single point of contact for regional finance leadership
  • Liaise frequently with other managers in the team (based in the region or in country) to ensure that regional processes are being managed optimally
  • Regular calls with defined stakeholder to resolve outstanding actions. Feedback on team's performance
  • Set a culture of Cross training and support across the other country reports/dashboard and align processes where possible
  • Lead on the momentum on workshops and be an empowerment advocate for the team.
  • Develop and coach teams and analysts to increase efficiency and improve quality of output
  • Create capacity and support taking workload from country teams and other Corporate teams
  • Understands GFS and regional controls requirements and ensure that all regional/global deadlines are met, and milestones are being delivered by FPA teams in Sofia
  • Build and maintain robust financial models for risks and opportunities reviews, balance sheet reconciliations, revenue reporting and analysis to support regional decision making
  • Support and streamline various reporting needs across the regions supported
  • Create ad hoc analysis that provides insight to senior stakeholders
  • Assist with preparation of Senior leadership presentations or financial performance packs
  • Continually identify process and reporting improvements that improves quality of deliverables in the finance function
  • Drive a culture of robust forecasting throughout the business by working with the team and countries to improve consistency and accuracy.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience on similar leadership role with proven track record of change
  • Previous experience of working in a Financial Accounting or FP&A function, including dealing with stakeholders in different global locations.
  • Strong organisation and delegation skills
  • Proactive individual, with ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical skills- ability to think of pragmatic solutions to analytical challenges
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - with an ability to build complex financial models and graphs
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A member of internationally recognised accountancy qualification would be an advantage, i.e. CPA, ACA, CGMA (CIMA) or equivalent
  • Resilient and durable, able to maintain momentum in the face of obstacles and setbacks
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in an effective manner
  • Ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands
  • Highly effective communication and presentation of propositions and solutions. Deliver and pitch ideas to a wide audience at different levels
  • Process efficiency approach to everything. Making manual processes or reports more automated/macro-driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a virtual regional team
  • Proven track records of operating efficiently and effectively in the matrix organisation
  • Building strong relationship with the finance and non-finance stakeholders
