My client is an Australian FMCG group that was established almost 70 years ago, right here in Melbourne. They are now owned by one of the largest industry leaders in FMCG, a food manufacturer with a large European and US operations with several well-known household brand names under their portfolio. These brands are distributed in your local Coles and Woolworths and currently they are expanding their distribution channels to cater for future growth. With their recent acquisitions in Australia along with more strategic acquisitions in the works, my client is well on its way to achieve their 3 to 5 year targets.

About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, your main responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Prepare monthly and annual statutory accounts and take responsibility for month end closure
  • Prepare company budgets & forecasts in liaison with the managing director
  • Preparation of monthly sales reports for various channels
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly payroll reports
  • Monthly review of stocktake and stock prices
  • Management of weekly cash flow and trade finance
  • Assisting and liaising with banks and external auditors
  • Review of PAYG withholding, Payroll tax and Workcover
  • Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office and other regulatory bodies
  • Business partnering with other local and international stakeholders to deliver financials
  • Oversee AP, AR & Payroll officers to efficient and timely reporting
  • Other ad hoc reporting in assistance to the managing director


Ideal Profile

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Accountant with,
  • CA/CPA qualified with over 5 years of post qualified experience
  • Ideally with multinational FMCG company background
  • Excellent and clear communication skills to communicate with non-financial stakeholders
  • Team management experience
