Job Posting Title: VP, Global Sourcing and Procurement Grade:15 (relevant to Internal only) Location: New York, Denver, Charlottesville
The Role: The Head of Sourcing and Procurement is responsible for leading strategic sourcing and managing S&P Global's day-to-day Sourcing and Procurement functions. The role is accountable for the building and optimizing Procurement, meeting financial targets related to Strategic Sourcing activities, implementing best in class end-to-end vendor management processes, and identifying risks resulting from those activities. This position will be responsible for achieving an effective balance between implementation of a robust procurement risk governance framework to fulfill risk management obligations and S&P Global's capacity to procure goods and services and realize business opportunities while controlling costs efficiently and innovatively.
  • The Team: This role has the following reporting relationships:
    • Direct Report to SVP Business Services
    • Next Level Management, Chief Financial Officer
    • Works closely with finance and busies senior level decision makers
    • Manage a global sourcing and procurement team located across the US, UK, India, and the Philippines
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Define and execute a Procurement strategy and vision that delivers on established financial targets ensuring monetization of sourcing productivity
    • Coordinate with all business segments globally to obtain the best outcomes across S&P Global taking into consideration their long-range procurement needs
    • Articulate and execute a Procurement roadmap that builds capabilities needed for long-term growth and sustainability including the launch of a comprehensive preferred vendor program, enhancing the supplier diversity program, and reducing overall number of vendors
    • Responsible for implementing best in class end-to-end source to pay process improvements working across all key constituents
    • Design a Procurement organization that has the structure, process, technology, talent, metrics, and reporting needed to deliver the plan and build for the future
    • Develop a high-performing and motivated strategic procurement team responsible for interfacing with business and supplier partners
    • Ensure stakeholder alignment and coordination via clearly articulated governance processes including definition of roles and responsibilities, decision rights and communication and coordination mechanisms
    • Establish balanced scorecard metrics (cost, quality, diversity, service, etc.) that drive accountability for Total Operating Cost
    • Manage the supplier relationship, ensuring our suppliers are aligned with our approach and held accountable for their performance
    • Review opportunities across S&P Global's business segments to synergize and consolidates buys
    • Identify, prioritize, and execute continuous improvement opportunities
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $147,600 to $411,300. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.   • Basic Qualifications:
    • B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Risk Management, Operations, or related field
    • A minimum of 15 years' experience in Strategic Sourcing or Procurement with a proven track record of leading comparable operations and programs (e.g., global purchasing operations, cost reduction programs, etc.) is required. Sourcing and Procurement experience in a global financial services company across multiple spend categories including technology, services, travel, etc.... is preferred
    • A minimum of 10 years of people leadership experience in building and developing high-performing teams is required including the ability to lead global teams
    • Skills in all Procurement process disciplines including spend category, negotiation, supplier selection, supplier value management, benefits capture, requisition to payment, and acquisition integration
    • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to coach and develop others to do the same
    • Outstanding interpersonal, relationship management and presentation communication skills
    • Exceptional leadership skills that are demonstrated by achieving desired results through others, while building effective internal customer relationships
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • MBA or advanced degree in a related field is preferred
    • Comprehensive business process and systems knowledge, and the ability to identify and implement best practices
    • Proven strategic and critical thinking skills as well as an ability to execute in a highly matrixed environment
    • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
    • Expert understanding in e-procurement processes and systems using Ariba or similar P2P system
    • Expert level financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills
    • Transformative change management skills and self-awareness to take varying approaches with a dynamic set of stakeholders
    • Desire to work with colleagues of many cultures and languages.
