The Compliance Operations Business Project Manager role will be responsible for a broad range of Process Optimization and Quality Assurance Oversight activities across the US and UK Compliance Operations group. The candidate will work with the management team and report directly to the Process Optimization and Quality Assurance Manager in the US/UK.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Optimization - Effectiveness and Efficiency

  • Manage and oversee process optimization initiatives with focus on continuous improvement as measured by improved control effectiveness and efficiency, specifically but not limited to the following processes: Client Due Diligence (“CDD”), Enhanced Due Diligence (“EDD”), Event Driven Reviews (“EDR”), and PEP (“Politically Exposed Persons”) functions
  • Manage, plan, drive and oversee successful completion of Compliance Operations projects. This includes communicating/reporting to senior management, creating and executing on project plans, and raising issues/concerns.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Second Line of Defense, First Line of Defense, and Financial Crimes Compliance (“FCC”) to promote quality standard methodologies and consistency across teams
  • Coordinating with the global and regional team to lead best-practices as well as perform read-across to identify gaps and driving projects to close the gaps
  • Drive execution and transformation initiatives, including coordination with various partners to achieve objectives (e.g. operational and quality improvements, workflow design and control/test implementation)
  • Evaluate processes and procedures across geography and function to ensure consistency
Quality Assurance (QA) Management
  • Assist the team lead to oversee the collective QA framework for the IB Compliance Operations unit with monitoring and reviewing of outputs, analyzing results and proposing measures to improve identified gaps and mitigate risks.
  • Drive alignment of QA framework with the firm-wide standards and other control functions.
  • Address identified deficiencies/ related control gaps including proposing solutions, control design, socialization and implementation

We are looking to expand the team in IB Compliance Operations, which includes coverage teams located in New York, London, Raleigh, North Carolina and Pune, India. Your skills and experience

We are looking for an applicant who possess a Bachelor’s degree in qualitative field (e.g. International Relations, Law, Politics, Government etc.)

  • Equivalent experience of at least 5 years in Compliance, Risk Management or AML experience for a financial institution with understanding of project management and quality management.
  • Ability to manage multiple assigned responsibilities while meeting key goals associated with global program initiatives
  • Exposure to a highly effective compliance function in a financial services or heavily regulated industry
  • Highly motivated, committed with drive and enthusiasm
  • Hardworking with ability to work independently and excellent time management.
  • Cultural transformation experience in leading change across an organization through influence and collaboration, validated leadership skills in a collaborative culture
  • Evaluate all aspect of business problem and provide solution by understanding the risk and business impact
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor, track progress and drive project/ business problem to completion
  • Outstanding written, analytical, and verbal communication skills in English, with proven ability to communicate and present complex ideas in concise written form
  • Detailed understanding of operational or financial crime risks
  • Certified project manager (e.g. Agile Scrum Master, PMP/PMI, LeanSigma Green Belt) preferred
