The purpose of this role is to:
1. Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for support, guidance and quality assurance practices for Data Technician Standards, for Warfare Branch Learners progressing Apprenticeship Programmes (AP) in the Naval Service.
2. Deliver high quality assurance support services for Apprenticeship Standards in line with national requirements and regulations.
3. Maintain quality records for Learner Progress Reviews and apprenticeship progression journey.

Job Description:

What you'll be doing:
  • To provide Apprenticeship Programme delivery and support services for learners progressing their Apprenticeship programmes, ensuring the MWS output measurements are met.
  • Visit operational units to conduct learner progress reviews and act as support for Warfare Training Co-Ordinator
  • Deliver Task Book completion lesson to new Warfare Training Co-Ordinators in preparation for support ratings on board operational units
  • Under the Supervisors authorisation, work closely with the RN and National Authorities/Agencies to ensure a consistent and compliant quality assured Apprenticeship delivery output.
  • Maintain Apprenticeship documentation to meet RN and external Authority/Agency quality control and contract requirements. To include mapping documents against Warfare job role and Data Technician Standard level 3.
  • Monitor, identify and produce appropriate training documentation to uphold the centres quality assurance standards.
  • As directed by the Manager/Supervisor, conduct Apprenticeship Organisations quality control measures to ensure service outputs. (This may include travel and overnight stay).
  • Maintain CPD currency and SQEP in line with technical experience and external body requirements.


What we're looking for:
  • Previous Warfare Military experience in an Ops room environment
  • Qualified to Level 3 (L4 desirable) or equivalent in: Data / IS / Data Technician competency or have 5 years proven experience of managing/using electronic command systems within the armed services
  • Level 2 qualification in Maths/English.
  • ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT applications at minimum L2.
  • Ability to obtain a DBS/CRB clearance
  • Ability to manage a high workload and prioritise effectively in time-bound situations.
  • Ability to work independently, also as a proactive member in a team.
