THE OPPORTUNITYThe Vector programme's objective is to replace the firms Practice Management System(PMS. The Practice Management system (PMS) is core to the operations of the firm. Handling the creation and distribution of bills, revenue management along with the core accountancy functions and controls. This high exposure and complex programme will impact all aspects of the firm functions, people, and offices.The programme is taking the opportunity to not only replace the underlying out of service technology but also review the associated business processes to drive for improvement, efficiency and standardisation across the international user base. As well as providing an enhanced experience and 'smarter' ways of working for the fee earners.The role will sit within the Functional Design Stream. The Functional Design stream will be central to the success of the programme. The Business Analysts role will support the definition and delivery of business requirement for the new finance system. The role will be expected to deliver the required design deliverables as well as supporting the functional and business testing cycles, change management /training activities and deployment. The programme has a matrix structure and the role will require to work across all streams and other leads.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Positively contribute to the Functional Design team
  • Support the definition and delivery of all required functional design deliverables
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to capture and define business requirements
  • Support the prioritisation of business requirements
  • Define detailed design principles to underpin the' to-be' design.
  • Coordinate and input into 'as-is' process mapping of current processes as well as defining the 'to-be'
  • Work with vendors to develop robust functional documentation/specification
  • Produce high quality documentation and process maps
  • Build and nurture relationships with SME's, process owners and other programme and firm key stakeholders
  • Ensure design outputs correlate back to the core objectives of the programme
  • Work across the international offices to ensure a collaborative and representative design is compiled
  • Work with local teams to ensure data to transfer is reconciled and cleansed for upload.
  • Work with data migration team to ensure accurate transfer.
  • Work with local finance teams to ensure that specific local accounting requirements are understood, documented and met within the new system.
  • Ensure across the programme the designs are clear and understood, support the central design knowledge pool for supporting the programme throughout the delivery cycles e.g. Data design, Build and test, change management, training and post go live support
  • Ensure that any necessary business information is requested and provided in advance of any deadline set.
  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved by the stream to the Accounting Lead.
ABOUT YOU
  • Extensive experience in financial control account reconciliation
  • Knowledge of fixed assets registers
  • Experience of working with international accounts team and an understanding of local compliance requirements
  • Proven success in the execution of finance transformation activities or projects
  • Effective communication skills including documentation and workshop facilitation and ability to present and discuss at all levels within the firm
  • Understanding of business goals and objectives
  • Understanding of the core components of the project lifecycle
  • Great team working skills and a passion for delivering results
  • Able to work independently and adapt to change
  • Ability to judge and manage priorities effectively and work to tight timescales
Desirable skills and experience:
  • Experience of working with ERP systems, knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
  • In depth understanding of financial processes including ledgers and journals
  • Acumen to resolve complex reconciliations
  • Knowledge of Chart of Accounts structures in international organisations.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
