THE OPPORTUNITYThe Business Analyst (BA) role will sit within the Functional Design Stream. The Functional Design stream will be central to the success of the programme. The BA role will support the definition and delivery of business requirement for the new finance system, as well as supporting the functional and business testing cycles, change management/training activities and deployment. The programme has a matrix structure and the role will require to work across all streams and other leads.The Finance Transformation Programme (Vector) Background: The Vector programme's objective is to replace the firm's Practice Management System. The Practice Management System (PMS) is core to the operations of the firm. Handling the creation and distribution of bills, revenue management along with the core accountancy functions and controls. This high exposure and complex programme will impact all aspects of the firm's functions, people and offices. The programme is taking the opportunity to not only replace the underlying legacy systems but also review the associated business processes to drive for improvement, efficiency and standardisation across the international user base; providing an enhanced experience and 'smarter' ways of working for the fee earners.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct detailed and thorough analysis of the existing Elite Enterprise system to facilitate 'as-is' process mapping and definition of 'to-be'
  • Support the data migration from the legacy system into SAP, including support of the mapping, ETL processes and post migration validation
  • Support the definition and delivery of all required functional design deliverables
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to capture and define business requirements
  • Support the prioritisation of business requirements
  • Work with vendors to develop robust functional documentation/specification
  • Produce high quality documentation and process maps
  • Build and nurture relationships with SME, process owners and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure design outputs correlate to the core objectives of the programme
  • Collaborate across the international offices to ensure a cohesive and representative design
  • Ensure across the programme the designs are clear and understood, support the central design knowledge pool for supporting the programme throughout the delivery cycles e.g. Data design, build and test, change management, training and post go live support
  • Ensure that any necessary business information is requested and provided in a timely manner
  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved to the workstream lead
ABOUT YOUThe Business Analyst must have strong organisational and communication skills. The successful candidate will understand the objectives of the programme, be able to influence others, develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, team colleagues and service providers involved in the management and operation of the programme.The candidate should have the following attributes:
  • Proven success in the execution of finance transformation activities or projects
  • In depth understanding of legal "work to cash" processes and associated master data
  • Strong analytical skills in large and complex volumes of data
  • Experience of how the complex data structure relates to business processes
  • Experience of working with Fulcrum SNAP, Elite Enterprise or similar legal PMS
  • Effective communication skills including documentation and workshop facilitation and ability to present and discuss at all levels within the firm
  • Understanding of how typical solution design aligns to common business goals/objectives
  • Great team working skills and a passion for delivering results
  • Able to work independently and adapt to change
  • Ability to judge and manage priorities effectively and work to tight timescales
  • Experience of working with both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies
  • Recognised Business Analyst qualification/certification
