Function Overview:

C iti Global Functions Technology is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to perform analysis on decommissioning of legacy components of the existing FX Accounting Technology platform and implement a target state platform. The Senior Business Analyst will have a deep understanding of one or more of the FX Products and its accounting life cycle. Must have experience in double-entry accounting principles and have considerable experience in implementing large scale finance transformation projects end-end, preferably in the FX business. Must have dealt with Product Controllers and have appreciation on the Financial Accounting Close Process. The Senior Business will perform current state analysis of existing technology platforms, identify gaps against the defined target architecture and propose roadmap to address the gap. Must be comfortable to involve in all stages of the SDLC, including testing and assist in UAT. Must be a self starter, team player, gather inputs from the various stakeholders, including business SMEs, ability to discern large volumes of data and synthesize key information / findings to present to senior management. All analysis work are backed by strong reasoning and aligned to the Bank's long term strategy.

Role Overview:

The Senior IT Business Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.

Responsibilities/Skillset:
  • Strong overall business understanding of Derivatives products - particularly FX - with in depth understanding around one of areas e.g. Trade Processing/settlement, Operations, Accounting or Ledger reporting.
  • Understanding of accounting landscape, including technology and accounting processes downstream, the General Ledger, postings and adjustments
  • A proven track record in project delivery within the FX space with a comprehensive knowledge of one or more FX products (Cash & Options), FX trade lifecycle and emphasis on Trading, Risk Management, Front-to-back processing, Operations, Regulatory Reporting, and other related Control functions
  • Experience working on a large-scale Finance transformation program with regulatory commitments.
  • Analyze, design & E2E implementation of new systems, either home-grown or a vendor product implementation
  • Product Delivery & Management: Manage projects against aggressive client/regulatory commitments and deadlines. Ensure ordered and well documented product/feature backlogs; Remove blockers to development progress and manages the stakeholder expectations
  • Exposure to the Cloud paradigm preferably AWS.
  • Knowledge of both waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects and foster communication between business leaders and IT
  • Consult with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards and recommends solutions
  • Support system change processes from requirements through implementation and provide input based on analysis of information
  • Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and provides user and operational support Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
  • Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts and work as a team to achieve business objectives, performing other duties and functions as assigned
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle through to post implementation support
  • Create, manage and regularly update project plans
  • Continuous business engagement throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the key stakeholders are aware of change management plans
  • Ensure sustainability of initiatives through capturing and assessing business benefits through post go live measurement and review
  • Participate in the development and execution of all phases of testing


Qualifications:
  • Evidence of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Experience in data analysis with intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Proven interpersonal, data analysis, diplomatic, management and prioritization skills
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven ability to manage multiple activities and build/develop working relationships
  • Proven self-motivation to take initiative and master new tasks quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and approach work methodically with attention to detail


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
