Function background / context:

The Institutional Clients Group (ICG) comprises major lines of business across Citi, including Global Markets, Treasury and Trades Services, Investment and Commercial Banking and Private Banking. ICG is scaled to serve multi-national companies, emerging market leaders, governments, and investors that rely on its unique global network, insights, and local market expertise to meet their banking needs.

This new role is part of ICG Risk and Controls function and working in the team focused on the delivery of a high profile program to enhance the operational risk framework and RCSA processes across ICG businesses. There are multiple workstreams delivering critical components of this program, including control framework enhancements, regulatory controls mapping and the development of automated controls.

This is a business analyst role supporting two key ICG workstreams covering the centralisation and automation of common controls and the development of enhanced operational risk reporting.

As a business analyst you will form a critical link between the business community (ie. ICG control team; business users; policy, control, data owners and; control operators) and the ICG technology team, translating business requirements into technology specifications for use by technologists.

This role requires a knowledge and understanding of banking activities, front office controls and operational risk principles. It is expected that the you will, for identified control themes, analyse policy and related documentation, research data sources across ICG, develop control design specifications and translate these into FRDs for technology development. You will also work with ICG Risk and Control teams to define technical specifications for enhanced risk reports.

This role represents an exciting opportunity to join a business aligned team of skilled professionals delivering a best practice controls and operational risk framework and the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of banking activities offered across Citi's ICG businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research identified control themes, based on related policy documents and through communication with business users and support groups, to develop control objectives and formulate as automated control designs for review, approval.
  • Translate approved automated control designs into Functional Requirements Documents for implementation by ICG technology.
  • Translate ICG Risk and Control operational risk reporting requirements into clear, precise and concise technical specifications and document as Functional Requirements Documents (FRD) to be used by technologists to build and deliver reports.
  • Work across ICG Risk and Control teams, business users and ICG technology to complete user acceptances testing of automated controls and reports, prior to implementation.

  • Prior knowledge and experience of banking activities and front office controls gained in a global investment bank.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
  • Prior experience as a business analyst in a global investment banking business will be advantageous
