We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team!

As a Business Analyst you will work with our Product Owners, business stakeholders and technical partners to understand business issues and change needs.

You will document requirements using a range of techniques, and generate / deliver solutions (whether process or software orientated).

As the Business Analyst for Digital Retail you will work within the UK Bus central Commercial & Retail teams in collaboration with our front-line operating businesses to identify opportunities to improve the customer experience, elicit & document requirements and develop & deliver solutions which help simplify our customers' experience, driving increased customer satisfaction and revenue.

You will be home-based, but with a requirement for visits across UK business sites, and weekly meetings in Hunslet Park, Leeds. The role is paying £45-£50k p/a (dependant on experience).

Please note that this role requires a minimum of three years' experience in a relevant digital retail-based Business Analyst role, and a BCS/ISEB/IIBA qualification.

Key accountabilities:
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business issues, document requirements and generate solutions, whether process or software orientated.
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews to solicit and document business requirements.
  • Convert high-level business requirements into actionable documents for developers to work with; whether simple requirements, user stories or more traditional Business Requirements Specification documents.
  • Undertake process mapping in BPMN and modelling in UML (particularly class, sequence and activity diagrams) using tools such as Visio or Draw.io
  • Review and evaluate As Is processes and establish necessary changes required to ensure optimal To Be processes are defined, anticipating requirements and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Generate other Business Analyst project deliverables: e.g. Project Mandates, Project Briefs, Business Cases, Risk & Issue logs, etc.
  • Work with stakeholders, Product Owners and project team to prioritise collected requirements.
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to the project team and other business stakeholders.
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary. Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyse, define and work with business unit staff to deliver business change in support of project rollouts and other initiatives.
  • Writing of user guides and delivery of end-user training.
  • Run User Acceptance Testing exercises including generating test scripts from requirements.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience of Business Analysis, with at least 3 years in digital retail or related area: i.e. e-commerce (mobile or web); point-of-sale solutions, payment gateways, CRM systems, etc. Preferably in a public transport setting or other high customer/transaction volume setting.
  • BCS/ISEB or International Institute of Business Analysis UK (IIBA) qualification.
  • Experience in a large multi-business unit organisation and able to handle complex and sometimes conflicting requirements and contended resources.
  • In-depth understanding of analysis techniques and approaches. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Able to deal with stakeholders from frontline operational staff to business unit Managing Directors - strong facilitation and presentation skills are crucial.
  • An understanding of data structures and APIs
  • Strong understanding of the software testing process
  • A self-starter able to manage the initiation of projects and then work alongside a Project Manager and technical teams in the delivery of projects using both waterfall and agile methodologies.
