We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

An exciting career opportunity has arisen within the Finance Department for a well-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us as an Assistant Locality Accountant.

We are developing a financial management dashboard and productivity dashboard within the Trust's integrated information centre to support budget holders in a fast moving health service. The Trust has a well-developed quality improvement system to maximise quality and eliminating waste in services and you will have an opportunity to contribute both within Finance and within the services you will be supporting.

Reporting directly to the Directorate Accountant for Estates, Facilities Management and Capital, this is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous financial management experience to build upon the foundations they have already laid.

The post holder will work closely with budget managers, clinical professionals and other members of the finance team to provide timely and accurate information. Thus contributing towards the accurate production of corporate finance reports and Board reports on the Trusts current and forecast financial performance.

With previous financial management experience and excellent IT skills the post holder will be encouraged to continue their professional development. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will provide supervision to support staff in delivering the monthly timetable and influence colleagues and budget holders at all levels on a daily basis. It is assumed you will be a forward thinking, confident and motivated individual with a strong team ethic, an analytical and logical approach to problem solving, excellent communication skills dealing with senior colleagues and supporting junior colleagues on a daily basis.
