About the role...

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant, for a 12 month fixed term contract to support our Mainland Europe Finance Team. Whilst it is a Fixed Term Contract role - the team has expanded considerably, and the business has experienced continued success in the pandemic. A lot can happen in 12 months!

This Management Accountant role sits within the Mainland Europe Integration team, the focus of the team is embedding the new acquisitions to align with the accounting policies and processes of the IVC Evidensia Management Accounts team until successfully integrated, at which point the accounting for the clinics is handed over to the relevant BAU Management Accounts team. Working initially on Belgium acquisitions the role itself requires a flexible approach as it's likely that the post holder will either need to work acquisitions for other countries, depending on pipeline, or alternatively move across to the BAU team with the clinics once BAU ready.

This role, and the acquisitions team generally are fundamental to the company's group strategy of Acquire, Build and Create. The post-holder will be accountable for the timely and accurate production of new acquisition P&L's and Balance Sheets, and the ultimate handover or transfer of the clean ledgers to the BAU Management Accounting team.

Key responsibilities:
  • Sales reconciliations and working with the in country team and other Shared Service Centre stakeholders to manage and understand the drivers for control accounts and debtors walk balances
  • Ownership and production of clinic P&L's, Balance Sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities, to include liaison with in country teams where appropriate
  • Providing results commentary to the in country team and SMAM
  • Supporting the in country team with queries and processes
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to ensure efficient and fit for purpose
  • Support on audit and audit queries
  • Support the wider acquisitions team as required
  • Month end reporting to include creating and posting journals
  • P&Ls production and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Supporting in country team
  • Identifying areas where it might be possible to create efficiencies


What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in Management Accounting role in similar sized business. We are looking for someone who has the ability to adapt and be flexible, the Integration team portfolio of countries is constantly changing so the post-holder will need to be able to react to the needs of the business. You will have excellent IT skills including excel, and experience of Open Accounts would be an advantage but not essential. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail and an enquiring nature to be able to confidently deal with the variety of different challenges presented by each territory. You will have a proven ability to build strong relationships both within the SSC and with the wider in country team. European Language skills are desirable, IVC Evidensia have a presence in several European countries
