We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a British multinational banking and financial services organisation. Its international network comprises around 7,500 offices in over 80 countries and territories in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa. This is a 12 month contract role.


• Contribute to change programmes and BAU activities

• Monitor implementation and transformation initiatives relating to Transaction Monitoring

• Assist with engagement across Global Risk Analytics partners to initiate and support projects

• Translate and communicate the technical and business impact of change driving new analytical projects across all Global products and customer segments

• Employ an improvement mind-set to identify and define issues or problems that are less obvious: participates actively and constructively in brainstorming meetings where problems are discussed and/or resolved.

• Uses systemic thinking and creativity in devising solution options

• Articulates or translates complex information in clear, meaningful and structured way to suit audience

• Write concise reports supported by analytics and logical thinking including Terms of Reference, Requirements and help shape project definitions to guide data analysis and optimisation.

• Conceptualize and develop regular Management Information and Business Intelligence

• Help translate regulatory requirements, as defined by senior Compliance stakeholders, into consistent, efficient, workable processes.

• Bring together our global community: facilitate cross departmental, cross business and cross geographical working to support achieving core strategic priorities

• Works with management to assist in structuring analysis to identify high value business opportunities, value business opportunities, build out project plans to address, and support the definition of execution of activities

• Provides structural framework to address complex unstructured business problems for self or other analysts

• Build effective working relationships with analysis and design teams in our delivery partners and works well with external partners


• Excellent eye for detail and ability to draw and support conclusions or anticipate outcomes from data trends or system documentation.

• Business Analyst experience that could include but not limited too the translation of business requirements and technical specification, requirements gathering analysis and definition

• Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder management

• Understanding of AML and AML systems would be a significant advantage

• Strong judgement, decision making and problem solving abilities

• Excellent level of planning and organising skills to ensure work is focused on key priorities, managing conflicting requirements and rescheduling when necessary to meet deadlines

• Python, SQL, R, SAS, SPSS, MATLAB, Visual Basic, Hadoop (Hive, Pig, Ambari, etc.), SPARK or equivalent is desirable.

• Good understanding of the business activities for a large global banking group with diverse operations from retail banking, wealth management, commercial banking, global banking, investments, transaction services, asset management, private banking and insurance. Good understanding of payment activities for a large global banking group with diverse operations specially relating to AML, Payments, and Compliance.

• Minimum of 3 years proven and progressive experience in financial services data analysis and/or application development; AML Compliance specific experience preferred

• Strong communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written) and ability to convey information in a way that is clear, succinct, and easily understood by non-analysts and senior executives. Proven ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings both to Compliance Colleagues and Business Heads

• Takes pride in working to a high standard, and thrives within a changing environment, showing initiative and drive

• Experience in any Visual Analytics tools and concepts e.g Tableau, SAS VA, Qlikview, Platfora an advantage.

• Understanding business requirements and ability to convert these into positive systems changes

• Be able to generate and maintain positive relationships within the team and across the business

• Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems. Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective


£350 per day PAYE
