Financial Crime Compliance Officer
The Compliance & Operational Risk function provides advice to senior management on queries and regulatory change as well as providing independent monitoring to ensure the business continues to operate within the appropriate regulatory standards, internal policies and industry norms.

The Compliance & Operational Risk function provides advice to senior management on queries and regulatory change as well as providing independent monitoring to ensure the business continues to operate within the appropriate regulatory standards, internal policies and industry norms.
Key responsibilities:
This is a key hire and requires the candidate to engage with directors, key business stakeholders and international colleagues, including partners in Compliance in the U.S.
- Continue with the evolution and delivery of a comprehensive, risk-based Financial Crime framework for the Europe & APAC businesses;
- Assist the business in identifying emerging financial crime risks and what mitigants can be put in place as controls;
- Establish a good understanding of the clients, counterparties and service providers across the relevant businesses;
- Undertake assessments and reviews of transactions and client onboarding including PEP and Sanction screening;
- Suppport and/or undertake the periodic reviews of Transfer Agents and other key third party relationships;
- Liaise with Compliance colleagues in other Europe & APAC offices and provide them with a additional expertise's and assistance;
- Assist the Financial Crime Offficer for Europe & APAC to execute the Financial Crime Enterprise Wide Risk Assessment and the Group AML Compliance Risk Assessment processes;
- Support the reporting processes to senior management and boards on matters relating to Financial Crime;
- Work with Group AML team in adopting, where possible or appropriate, centralised systems and processes that continue to meet local regulatory expectations;
- Support the investigation and, when required, make aid with the submission of Suspicious Activity Reports to the UK National Crime Agency;
- Attend industry seminars and association meetings on Financial Crime topics to ensure continued adoption of best practice;
- Contribute to the provision of up to date and relevant online training modules and provide class room training to the business on the regulations, policy requirements, procedures and staff obligations;
- Become subject matter expert and provide support to the Compliance Ethics Programme and the leader of that function.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Demonstrated a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements and industry practices in regard to AML/KYC, ABC and preferably CCO, and experience in establishing, enhancing and maintaining a robust Financial Crime programme.
- Experience with FCA regulation and associated laws
- Experience of working in a compliance team within an institutional asset management business.
- Experience of working collaboratively across multiple jurisidctions with Compliance colleagues strongly preferred
- Compliance and/or Financial Crime related qualification desirable.
- Some experience with the Luxembourg, German, Singaporean and Hong Kong requirements would be desirable.
