We are an accounting firm located in North Sydney looking for an experienced and qualified accountant to perform accounting, taxation, SMSF and audit duties. The candidates must be a Chartered Accountant in Australia with at least two years of relevant work experience.

Detailed requirements are as follows:

Direct and Indirect Taxes
  • Demonstrate a decent understanding of direct and indirect taxes, including:
  • Income tax
  • Fringe Benefits Tax;
  • Payroll tax;
  • Goods and Services Tax (GST);
  • Stamp duties.

  • Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF)
    • Demonstrate a moderate understanding of SMSF
    • Demonstrate decent knowledge of the ClassSuper software
    Company and Not-For-Profit (NFP) Audits:
    • Demonstrate a moderate knowledge of company audits and NFP audits
    Computer Skills
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the following software:
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • ClassSuper
  • APS
  • Xero and MYOB

  • Communication Skills
    • Where necessary liaise with clients by phone or in person demonstrating a sense of client service and professionalism.
    • Be able to liaise effectively with clients, company directors, staff and other government bodies, banks and institutions.
    • Use good verbal communication skills in your day to day interactions, ensuring that you use effective listening and questioning skills in order to understand the other person's perspective and their requirements of you.
    • Demonstrate effective written communication skills, saving time wherever possible through the use of standard letters. Be able to draft non-standard letters which are clear, concise and use "plain English".
    Other General Areas
    • In performing your work, ensure that you adhere to the following requirements of the firm:
    • Style policy;
    • File naming conventions;
    • Standards, which may include: workpapers, file set up, letters, spreadsheets, etc.
    • Participate effectively in all firm meetings. Ensure that you complete the action points assigned to you and meet the deadlines set.
