Objectives of the Position

  • To deliver Business Reporting services to BASF’s internal stakeholders in accordance with established Business Reporting work processes & procedures, in compliance with BASF guidelines & policies as well as Financial Reporting &Local Company legal and statutory requirements.
  • To ensure that service quality meet the agreed service level and target agreements.
  • To support, collaborate and/ or back up peers/ stakeholders in performing Business Reporting related activities.

Main Tasks

Delivery of Business Reporting activities for either one of the following subject areas

Product Costing & Inventory Valuation:

  • Perform Month End and Year End closing activities
  • Maintain and update master data for Business Processes, production budget and material
  • Update profit center on demand and maintain transfer price
  • Calculation of S-Price for externally procured and own manufactured products
  • Analysis of process order settlements
  • Calculation of PUP for externally procured and own manufactured products
  • Posting of inventory provisions
  • Calculation of devaluation rates (GIV) applied in the MEC based on BASF rule base

Cost Center & Profitability Accounting:

  • Perform Month End and Year End closing activities
  • Update of cost center master data
  • Update of cost center allocations, manual fixed amount allocations, Fixed & Variable SKF Keys
  • Attend queries related to cost center, allocations, APCCII and COPA profitability analysis
  • Perform cost allocations in profit & loss statement
  • Perform FI-CO module reconciliation and follow up with end users for corrective actions for FI-CO differences
  • Perform Transfer Pricing Elimination
  • Review & analyze Non-Trade Business transactions

Project Accounting:

  • Perform Month End and Year End closing activities
  • Project Setup and Maintenance of all relevant project master data
  • Financial Evaluation: decision to capitalize or expense project cost
  • Project Monitoring: monthly analysis of the project status and important KPI’s
  • Project Start-Up: capitalization of project costs to fixed assets
  • Closure of Projects
  • Monthly closing activities: report project costs in the balance, calculate construction period interests
  • Maintenance and support of various tools (IQ, Asset Cockpit, GIP, Auto-WBS, FORCE)

Others

  • Ensure compliance with BASF guidelines and policies, as well as Financial Reporting & Local Company legal and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure all work and process documentations are updated per the Internal Control Framework.
  • Active participation with compliance and/ or quality audit activities.
  • Identify, collaborate and/ or support implementation of local/ global project and continuous improvement activities.
  • Contribute and support the growth of BASF’s knowledge management with continuous learning and sharing and/ or documenting of new practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields
  • Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA or MIA)
  • Min 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems will be an advantage.
  • Good communication & presentation skills
  • Versatile and results-oriented in a fast-paced environment
