Description

The Payroll Manager is responsible for the efficient running of the monthly payroll. They will develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relations and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.

Preparation of all monthly reporting and analytics relating to payroll and employee expenses . The Payroll Manager will manage the relationship with the outsourced payroll and expenses providers, demonstrating a high level of commercial awareness and ensuring an efficient and accurate service. They will look for opportunities to improve processes and procedures that will support business efficiencies as well as internal and external customer satisfaction

The main duties included in this role are:

  • Control the accurate processing of outsourced monthly payroll within agreed procedures and timescales. This includes payrolls for three different business units
  • Ensure all payments made to employees and HMRC are made within the agreed timescales
  • Provide monthly reporting from the payroll system including verifying data submissions, comparison of month on month payroll, analysis and reporting; all of the aforementioned are completed in Excel
  • Compile and submit the monthly returns and annual reviews to pension provider in respect of the group personal pension plan pension scheme
  • Control the accurate and timely submission of annual HMRC returns, including, P14/P60's and P11D's
  • Compile and submit to HMRC the annual PAYE settlement agreement within agreed deadlines
  • Be the first point of contact for all employee payroll queries
  • Control the accurate processing of outsourced expenses within agreed procedures and timescales.
  • Be the first point of contact for all employee expense queries and system training for new employees.
  • Provide monthly reporting from the employee expense system including analysis of expenditure and reporting of outstanding items, all of the aforementioned are completed in Excel
  • Regularly review department SOX processes and identify any potential SOX issues. Recommend and implement effective processes with the Finance Manager
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer service by building and maintaining working relationships with all internal and external customers
  • Identify potential areas of change/improvement
  • Filing to be completed at the end of every month and archiving completed every six months.

Profile

  • A working knowledge of HMRC PAYE/NI rules when managing the outsourced payroll to safeguard HMRC compliance.
  • Experienced Excel skills with the ability to write and understand formulas, lookups, pivots and data movement
  • Comfortable with data and analytic in approach
  • Highly organised with the ability to juggle priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively whilst meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines in a changing environment, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and focus.

Job Offer

£38,000 - £45,000

This role offers flexible working 2 or 3 days in the office/home

Our client doesn't have parking onsite but are based very close to Woking train station and as mentioned there is flexibility to work from home also.
