Finance Business Partner

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The primary responsibility of the role is to act as a financial business partner for the Information and Digital Technologies (IDT) function, specifically for Global Services.

This role is accountable to manage financial planning and analysis, financial controls, business case evaluation, recharges to local entities and reporting. This role also manages the finance operations for Global Services Operations (GSO) function including demand and invoice management and Purchase Orders approval process. Handling IDT Services annual budget £95m and manage 4 direct reports.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Business Partnering

• Demonstrate leadership in driving financial discipline and best practices in IDT Services cost management
• Drive financial forecast cycle and provide detailed analysis of the forecast
• Proactively seek and identify cost saving and efficiency opportunities
• Track monthly actual costs and benefits. Highlight any significant variance vs targets
• Devise the appropriate billing principles and mechanisms and ensure compliance by BAT and vendors
• Identify billing issues and resolve disputes
• Fully understand/coordinate all financial reporting exercises and requirements
• Provide strong financial support to IDT Services function in making strategic business decision and business case evaluation for Project and Capex
• Ensure targeted benefits and costs are delivered on time in full through robust control and tracking
• Provide timely, insightful, high quality and accurate financial analysis to support management decision making
• Prepare financials presentation materials to senior stakeholders
• Work closely with Procurement and Vendor manager team to review supplier contracts
• Instrumental in building strong financial and commercial awareness and education amongst IDT Services at the IDTS senior manager’s level
• Support Finance Director to drive and deliver key Finance objective or initiatives across IDT
• Support any ad-hoc request

Team Development

• Develop and coach junior staff in delivering effective and value-add business partnering to the business
• Strong contribution in identifying and developing a talent pipeline for IDT Finance

Internal Controls

• Provide strong contribution to the development of internal controls and governance process across IDT Services
• Understands effective business controls within IDT Services and provides an overall sense check

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Finance Degree with professional accountancy qualification (i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
• At least 10 plus years of experience in Finance / Audit and at least 5 plus years in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
• Ability to delivery accurate and timely financial analysis, presentations, and decision support
• Ability to perform various ad hoc and scenarios planning analysis at a fast pace
• Understand the platforms and analyse reports, identify issues and challenges within reports functionalities and data
• Understand and apply relevant financial skills and knowledge.
• A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically BI/BPC, SAP, or ERP equivalent
• Detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision
• Strong controllership, planning and prioritization abilities
• Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls
• Experience of working in an IT or Technology environment a distinct advantage
