Dell has established a financial services business - Dell Financial Services (DFS) -within the Group to provide financial services support to its Singapore customers.

The Role:

The Credit Consultant will be responsible for managing credit risk exposure derived from banking and financial services activities. The individual will also be responsible to provide analysis and interpretation of financial status for proper evaluation of risk and the establishment of proper credit limits. The individual will be expected to initiate and implement continuous credit process improvement to meet key operational business needs of acceptable turnaround times and high productivity, while maintaining business controls within appropriate credit standards. The individual will also be expected to measure risk and be involved in setting overall polices and developing systems to control and monitor assets in terms of risk.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Employ complex statistical analysis that quantitatively estimates the probability of a loss occurring and the probable amount of the loss.
  • Develop, recommend and implement policies and procedures for investigating and evaluating new and existing customer creditworthiness and extending or revoking credit lines/limits.
  • Monitor portfolio performance for all relationships to ascertain the viability of each source.
  • Review and approve/decline credit proposals within approved credit authority.
  • Contribute to the managing of delinquent accounts and addresses credit related issues.
  • Highlight negative credit trends and recommends the appropriate course of action.
  • Assess and evaluate customer credit risk through in-depth business and financial analysis.
  • Interface with customers to resolve credit related issues, including on-site visits where appropriate.
  • Provide assistance and advice to sales organization with regard to structuring deals with a view to maximizing the commercial opportunity without compromising credit quality standards.
  • Participate in the compilation of activity or portfolio metric reports.
  • Complete annual customer and vendor reviews where large exposures dictate.
  • Monitor portfolio performance for all relationships to ascertain the viability of each source.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the investigation and analysis of credit risks for complex assigned accounts
  • Regularly brief senior leadership on the status of assigned accounts
  • Identify and recommend process improvements for team
  • Regularly coach and mentor less experienced team member

Required Skills:

  • 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree
  • IT Captive experience or equivalent in Asia Pacific, Japan and China preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial leasing, local business law, industry, political and economic environment
  • Advanced credit assessment skills
  • Advanced knowledge of local loan and lease documentation
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin preferred
  • Advanced customer service skill
