Summary

Fund Accounting provides valuation, fund accounting and administration services for Global Fund Service clients. The Unregistered Fund Accounting department delivers net asset values and reporting to clients in accordance with fund objectives and at any frequency. 

Accountants operate under general supervision but work on own most of the time. They work on large and/or complex clients. Accountants carry out relatively complex, extensive, high profile activities e.g. direct interaction with clients and more senior management. Accountants may lead projects and/or train lower-level staff. Accountants focus on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures in the function, building towards becoming an area expert.

Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, consultative, communication, and judgment skills
  • Must have critical thinking, brain storming, and problem solving skills
  • Highly motivated and a self starter
  • Displays both broad and in-depth knowledge in fund accounting, plus strong knowledge of related areas
  • Technically competent to act as first point of reference for day-to-day queries, and serve as a liaison to related areas.
  • Demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment

Major Duties: 

  • Calculate and deliver timely and accurate net asset values on complex fund structures
  • Deliver valuation reports to clients
  • Serve as one of the lead contacts for clients
  • Ensure all fund transactions and investor activity is properly posted to accounting system
  • Run daily valuation audits
  • Conduct cash, stock, and income reconciliations
  • Apply accounting and finance principals to numerous asset types

Experience required: 

  • Minimum 2 years of fund accounting experience. Experience with Sungard Enterprise is a plus.
