Job Description

White Storm Capital is looking to recruit Accountants to support its growing company in Equatorial Guinea. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, with the desire to work overseas, work cross culturally and possess the skills and acumen to work both operationally and strategically.

The Accountant position is responsible for providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports and other essential duties which include:

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintains Accounting record files
• Maintains, monitors, disburses and replenishes petty cash fund
• Maintains client, employees, and vendor files
• Tracks and maintains a log of Long Term Assets
• Performs bank and general ledger account reconciliations
• Documents, seeks approval for, and records adjusting entries in the general ledger
• Performs the period end closing procedures
• Timely and accurate production of financial statements
• Coordinates tax preparation
• Processes all receipts and disbursements
• Processes payroll, including payroll tax returns
• Submits requests for inter-fund transfers
• Maintains and reconciles the general ledger monthly
• Develops annual budget with Managing Partner and Operation Manager
• Prepares all financial reports, including requests for reimbursements
• Manages petty cash fund
• Reconciles bank accounts
• Reconciles statement of credit card deposits and service charges
• Checks all reimbursement requests against receipts provided

Should also be able to:
• Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Document financial transactions by entering account information.
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
• Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Secure financial information by completing data base backups.
• Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
• Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
• Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
• Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four year college or University in business related or Accounting discipline.
  • 3-5 years of Accounting experience
  • CPA Desired
  • Bilingual (English - Spanish) skills required
  • Must be willing to live and work in Africa (Equatorial Guinea)
  • Provide excellent service to all internal and external customers.
  • Experience with Sage 300 ERP a major plus
