The key responsibilities of the role include:

The primary focus of this role will be to ensure NTAM meets its reporting obligations across multiple regulations with an ability to assess the impact of Industry regulation specific to our business needs and supportive of growth and strategic initiatives.

The individual would be responsible for the daily monitoring of the control framework ensuring NTAM is not exposed to reporting failures, risks or financial costs. Functions will include timely and accurate trade and transaction monitoring utilising vendor platforms, exception management, client onboarding and data maintenance to support our regulatory processes. Competent analytical and communication skills are essential to research and resolve queries. Previous experience working in an asset manager/asset servicing role and in implementing process improvements and procedural documentation is desired.

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in regulatory operations with the leadership skills to navigate the team deliverables and strong collaborative teamwork ethic to manage in a time sensitive environment. This role in particular will require excellent communication skills to manage our regulatory vendor relationships with the ability to actively participate and represent NTAM in industry forum.

  • Act as an SME on the technical aspects of the NTAM Regulatory Operations workflow and reporting obligations overseeing as needed more junior members of the team with the ability to also liaise with senior management, vendors and regulators.
  • Support the timely and accurate regulatory reporting via various system platforms to support EMIR, MiFID2, SFTR and other regulatory obligations as they arise
  • Monitor systems to identify exceptions and undertake root cause analysis to ensure required amendments are completed
  • Work with Technology and other relevant teams to ensure data gaps/discrepancies are addressed
  • Identify, support and validate changes across Operations required to satisfy any new or updated regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and maintain procedures, process flows and checklists in line with the control framework
  • Daily review of reportable transactions. Investigate exceptions, identify inaccuracies and coordinate directly with Technology/Operations teams to resolve
  • Work closely and in a collaborative manner with other NTAM partners in support of the business on a daily and strategic basis.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate setup of new accounts on relevant regulatory reporting systems coordinating with the New Account Opening team
  • Work as part of a global team with members based in London, Hong Kong, Chicago and India
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving issues within established procedural guidelines
  • Support weekly/monthly team meetings, preparing relevant MI packs and agenda/meeting minutes with the appropriate tracking to evidence best practice and satisfy governance framework.
  • Support the production and detail of appropriate management information reporting to senior management, functional governance meetings and relevant committees.
  • Timely completion of reconciliations to support and strengthen Quality Assurance oversight model
  • Proactively engage with vendors and technology to implement improvements and efficiencies to the existing Regulatory Operations process and procedures
  • Support Project Implementation with the development of new Regulatory Reporting services and become the system/technical SME on the new solutions.

Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to resolve and research queries and issues
  • Prior experience of working in a team lead level role supporting and guiding more junior members of the team on technical regulatory reporting queries/issues as part of day to day operations.
  • Curious mind with solid ability to manage multiple priorities and cope with moving targets
  • Agile, flexible and adaptable to change
  • Good oral and written communication skills are required
  • Basic functional / industry knowledge is preferred
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. SharePoint/Business Intelligence, Microsoft Office tools inc. xml) is beneficial
  • Good Process and procedure development skills
  • Solid Relationship Management and experience presenting to Senior management and liaising with Industry participants
