2013 as part of Guardian News & Media (GNM), publisher of the
second-largest English language newspaper website in the world ().

We are seeking a part-time bookkeeper/finance assistant to support Guardian
Australia's finance team.

The bookkeeper/finance assistant will be responsible for managing all aspects
of bookkeeping for Guardian Australia including running the fortnightly
payroll, entering supplier invoices and expenses, creation of sales invoices,
collection of outstanding debt, managing the finance department inbox,
completing bank reconciliations and investigating/resolving disputes and
queries within agreed timeframes. As a core member of the finance team, this
role will also be responsible for suggesting and implementing improvements to
processes and will act as the main point of contact for both internal and
external queries.

This position would suit a self-driven, methodical and quality-focussed
bookkeeper with previous experience of digital media billing processes. The
successful candidate will work calmly under pressure, demonstrate strong
communication and problem solving skills, be proficient in MS Excel and
PowerPoint and have experience of payroll processing and using Xero (or similar
online finance system). A formal qualification in accounting or bookkeeping and
payroll tax, FBT and BAS experience will be highly desirable.
