We are looking for an Operational Tax Business Analyst to support the Operational Tax Change Manager in ensuring the successful and timely completion of all Operational Tax deliverables within the Finance Workstream plans. These will include requirements specification, validation and approval; BAT oversight and resolution of queries; CR specification, validation and approval; issue resolution and supporting business readiness and implementation activities.
You will do/be:1. Subject-matter expert across all clients in Operational Taxes.2. Supports the development of a finance-specific BaNCS/DG Oracle manual/framework identifying all client divergences and the creation of a preferred taxation set-up.3. Contributes to the development of each relevant suite of taxation system requirements ensuring these are unambiguous and clearly documented so that a non-taxation specialist is able to understand them. 4. Supports the interpretation of legislative and regulatory requirements and/or changes in order to assess the wider impact on finance processes and system solutions.5. Applies appropriate analytical methods and techniques, to shape and define business solutions ( processes and operational changes), documenting them in accordance with agreed format and quality standards 6. Contributes to the definition of the complex tax and accounting rules, reporting specifications and static data for each relevant client/build.7. Supports the Design & Build Teams with timely query resolution.8. Designs and delivers procedures and training for any new or amended processes.9. Supports BAT activities, contributing to the production of the Testing Strategy/Plans and providing an escalation point for queries and issues arising from the Finance Test Team.Requirements• Studying towards an accounting qualification; or has a Finance degree; or qualified by experience. • Knowledge of financial services (in particular Life & Pensions) processes and regulations.• Knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles, practices and compliance requirements for the UK and Ireland.• Expert in MS Excel and Word.• A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving, supported by strong interpersonal skills and confidence to select and apply relevant analytical and process engineering tools. • Ability to apply different techniques to resolve issues and analyse risk and impacts across a range of potential solutions.• Use clear and effective verbal, written and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate at senior levels of the organization, to provide logical argument and to influence decision-makers.• Strong attention to detail, good fact finding skills and ability to make evaluative judgments based on both quantitative and qualitative information.• Ability to communicate complex financial requirements to non-finance trained colleagues.• Ability to self-manage, work effectively under pressure and manage to tight deadlines.• Working within an operational tax role (or a tax-focussed change role) within Financial Services.
