French Accountant

This exciting French Accountant role reports into the European Financial Controller and is a varied and highly commercial role involving aspects of both management and financial accounting with a strong bias to business partnering and commercial analysis/ reporting for the French and UK division

Client Details

My client based in-between the Flitwick and Milton Keynes area (Junction 13 M1) and have a global presence and are market leaders in their chosen specialised area within the Retail Industry. With a great office atmosphere and environment they are keen to reward staff and promote autonomous working practises. This retail business have a great European Accounting and Finance function who add real value day to day, by successfully partnering with operational areas of the business from sales and marketing through to board and director level.

Description

Examples of tasks involved in the French Accountant:

• Supervision of the management accounts production to include; journals, misposts, accruals and prepayments
• Analysis of variances with full commentary, cost drivers and sales trends
• Management of an assistant accountant carrying out balance sheet reconciliations and month end preparation work
• Intercompany accounting of costs
• Budget and forecast formation and involvement in 5 year strategic planning
• Business partnering with operational teams

Profile

To apply for this role the successful French Accountant must demonstrate the following:

• Fluent French speaking and ideally cultural understanding of business activities undertaken in France
• ACCA or CIMA part qualified studier or with the equivalent relevant practical accounting experience to fulfil the role
• Flexible to take on new tasks
• Team player
• Business partnering experience communicating with non finance staff
• SAP or ORACLE experience is a bonus
• Strong EXCEL (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas, data manipulation)
