REQUIREMENTS
- Degree/recognized professional qualification in Accountancy
- Minimum 4-5 years of working experience in accounting in multi-entity and multi-currency organization
- Experience in leading and supervising an accounting team of at least five persons
- Strong analytical and technical accounting skills with the ability to understand complex transactions in the general ledger
- Solid foundational knowledge of analyzing and reporting financial data
- Knowledge and experience in taxation and company secretarial matters is preferred
- Attention to details with high degree of accuracy
- Meticulous, strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Result-oriented with good organizational and problem solving skills
- Self-motivated, self-learner, reliable and able to work under pressure
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operations of the Finance & Accounts Department
- Maintain accounting controls, identify and enhance operational workflows by recommending, developing, revising and implementing new chart of accounts, procedures and work methods
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures by all staff in the finance and accounts related matters
- Review the general ledger and monthly financial accounts of all entities and the monthly consolidated reports
- Approve payments to internal and external parties
- Review input tax and output tax reports before submission of SST-02 to customs
- Coordinate the completion of annual audits and tax compliances
- Liaise with external parties ie. tax agent, company secretary, auditor, lawyers, bankers, insurance agents/brokers on issues, updates and information
- Provide coaching and training to the departmental staff
- Review records and reconciliation of fixed assets and inventories
- Plan, organize and perform the annual physical inventory and ensure the discrepancies are investigated.
