Treasurer @ Charity Supporting Communities in Ghana

Our partner is a small UK based charity supporting community development initiatives in the Volta Region of Ghana, with programmes focused on safe sanitation, healthy communities and quality education.

They are looking to appoint a Treasurer to replace their founding Treasurer who is stepping down, although she is remaining on the Board of Trustees and able to offer guidance and answer questions. They are looking for someone who is happy to be 'hands-on' in the management of their financial systems. An average month sees three or four payments made from their account and twenty to thirty payments into their account.

As-well as some day-to-day responsibilities, the overall role of the Treasurer is to manage the financial systems and processes of the organisation and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals on the organisation’s state of financial health.

The Board meets 3 to 4 times a year, currently online which will continue post Covid with the possible exception of their AGM which is usually held in London. The estimated total time commitment is approximately two to three days per month.

Please note that this is a voluntary position and therefore unremunerated.
