We are currently partnering with an organisation based in Sheffield who are a fast paced market leader within their field and have a turnover of around £10m. The business is looking for their first Head of Finance in a newly created position. The business operates within the Education sector and they are looking for an individual who has experience of this in their current/previous roles.
The business is completely unique in its market and they are an extremely ambitious group who are looking for likeminded individuals to join their team. They have a state of the art office with a fantastic culture on top and are at the forefront innovation within their field.
The Role:
This newly created role will support take full responsibility of the finance department and drive decisions and actions to improve profitability within the organisation.
The key responsibilities include:
Full responsibility of the finance department Financial analysis of revenue trends, providing increased cost visibility & ownership, ensuring a robust control environment Produce, review & analyse month end reporting working closely the management accounting & Group reporting teams to ensure accuracy & understanding of results Reporting on Key Performance Indicators to drive profitable revenue growth Lead the budget & forecasting processes with the divisional Senior Management Team providing appropriate challenge, understanding & communication of risks, issues & opportunities Work closely with the operational teams to support work as appropriate to improve the accuracy or efficiency of reporting Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the month-end reporting process Support ad-hoc project requests as required
The Person:
Fully Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA with relevant accountancy experience Experience within education sector (Colleges, Academies, Schools, Universities) A graduate with at least 3 years PQE Candidates must be able to use Excel to a high standard and have advanced IT Skills The ability to business partner across non finance departments within the business Will be a driven a driven, proactive and reliable accountant who is a team player Commercially aware with a strong analytical skill set Strong organisational and interpersonal skills Must be able able to meet tight deadlines and prioritise workload with a highly inquisitive mindset Must have a drive for continuous improvement and want to add value within the business
