EY - GDS - Consulting - Finance

As part of our EY - Finance Consulting Team, you will help our clients in Finance service delivery and transformation. This includes working with the clientele to setup their Global Delivery Centers and a reliable and scalable operating model that will enable their requirements and growth. Additionally, this role requires experience and contributions in Finance Transformation, Finance technology enablement, Financial planning and Analysis and banking industry exposure in R2R, P2P, O2C, Performance Improvement initiatives through identification of potential opportunities and driving them through collaboration and direction. This includes techno-functional role conducting finance processes assessments, deep diving and analysing pain areas and coming up with solutions.

The opportunity

We're looking for Manager with expertise in IFRS Implementation, Financial Accounting, regulatory and Reporting domain to join the global EY - Finance Consulting team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a new service offering.

Your key responsibilities
  • Strong accounting skills and understands financial reports and statements, preferably working experience and industry exposure in the Banking and Capital Market Sector
  • Research, assess, analyse and document financial reporting and operational requirements for IFRS-17 (Insurance Contract), IFRS 16 (Leases), IFRS 9 Financial Instruments (Classification and Measurement) and IFRS 15 Contract Revenue.
  • Assist in identifying, developing, testing and implementing IFRS accounting operational and reporting solutions to meet financial and regulatory reporting requirements, map financial reporting processes and modify control procedures, as required.
  • Provide support in documenting current processes and new IFRS requirements.
  • Facilitates small to large meetings and conducts information gathering and/or training sessions as required.
  • Apply understanding of current reporting processes and develop in depth understanding of IFRS requirements to provide necessary training and support to reporting financial reporting team and other finance segments groups, as required.
  • Analyse current state of finance function, perform fit gap analysis, make recommendations for future state and design to be processes.
  • Analyse current baseline and gaps based on leading practices, confirm the finance vision, define Finance TOM and develop roadmap for change
  • Should have knowledge of activities in financial close of an organisation for month / Quarter / Annual close periods
  • Translate business requirements to technical language and model (good to have)
  • Good experience in Chart of accounts (CoA) design
  • Managing/ supervising teams of people on project work
  • Good Knowledge on ledger and sub-ledger systems; technical know-how of SAP ERP / HANA, Oracle GL, Hyperion, Blackline, Aptitude, Prophet, SAS, Moody's (good to have)

  • Open to travel (Domestic & International)
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure


To qualify for the role, you must have
  • CA, CFA or MBA (Finance)
  • 12+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Asset and Wealth Management operations
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

Ideally, you'll also have
  • Finance Transformation
  • Project management skills
  • Exposure to tools like ERP, HFM, Visio, ARIS, etc.
