Senior Operational Risk Analyst - Trade Association - £32,000-£38,000 DOE
Role Purpose
The Operational Risk Analyst role is responsible for working as part of a small team to implement the framework for identification, reporting and escalation of risk to the appropriate Executive teams. Within this framework, the Operational Risk Analyst will help with the oversight and challenge of operational risk management across the business.
The Operational Risk Analyst is part of the Operational Risk team and reports into the Head of Operational Risk. The role will lead a range of specific risk oversight tasks across different areas of business and will also require to build positive and open relationships with business team managers.

Role Purpose

The Operational Risk Analyst is part of the Operational Risk team and reports into the Head of Operational Risk. The role will lead a range of specific risk oversight tasks across different areas of business and will also require to build positive and open relationships with business team managers.
Some of the duties include :work to support and challenge the management of operational risk framework. This work may include the following:
- Provide advice and guidance on risk management to foster high achieving, well controlled business functions
- Develop and promote operational elements of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) including risk appetites, emerging risks and incident capture and analysis
- Support business teams in consistently applying the RMF to identify, assess, manage, monitor and report all material risks using appropriate tools (e.g. risk registers, controls analysis, incident management, emerging risks analysis, key risk indicators, risk appetite, etc)
- Support and challenge incident capture and analysis
- Support the effective operation of technical and risk Committees (e.g. RE ERC and RERC)
- Deliver regular operational risk reporting information from across the business to support effective decision making by senior executives and risk committees
- Undertake thematic reviews as required on issues, projects or risks
The role holder is expected to have the following experience.
- Risk management and control
- Governance, oversight and controls
- Regulatory framework, requirements and expectations
- Functional knowledge of risk, control and regulation
- Experience of designing and implementing governance frameworks, providing oversight and improving the control environments
- Familiar with working in a 3LOD model with a track record of delivering high quality oversight across multiple sites, products and entities
- Regulatory framework, requirements and expectations
- Proven track record in applying good judgement based on business information and assessment frameworks in order to determine the degree of business and regulatory risk posed by actions and issues within the business
