Our client is a Management Consulting firm currently building out a market-leading solution (product & advisory) focused on Climate Change.

This firm is recognised as a leader in the Climate Change space, and work collaboratively with banks, insurers and asset managers to understand their climate change strategy and challenges, advise directly on low carbon projects and investments, and implement their leading climate change model, built in-house as a SaaS product, which allows firms to analyse portfolios to assess transition and physical risks, and temperature alignment, enabling individual asset through to portfolio / company level assessment of the potential existing and future risks resulting from climate change scenarios.

With growing demand for specialist climate risk support across the FS industry, this firm are looking to hire into their Climate Change Methodology team, which focused on the development of the climate change model. A blended team of developers, finance professionals and energy specialists, their focus is on understanding the end-to-end lifecycle for assessing financial impacts on organisations as a result of climate change impacts and the energy transition.

This opportunity would suit individuals with a range of skills: Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and working knowledge in one of; Python, R, SQL.

Additional knowledge for more experienced candidates could include:

  • Company financial modelling (e.g. modelling cash flow and balance sheet impacts)
  • Financial asset modelling and pricing (e.g. bond/equity price behaviour)
  • Sovereign debt modelling
  • Credit Risk modelling (e.g. PD evolution)


This team are looking to hire in at a range of levels, so we would be interested in speaking with individuals at all levels of experience from Analyst (i.e. 1+yrs) through to more experienced candidates interested in applying their existing experience towards understanding climate change (and wider ESG) impacts on the financial sector.

Whilst within a consulting environment, this team is primarily focused on development of the climate change model (product), and are not focused on driving commercial outcomes through client engagement / origination. Individuals joining this team will work almost exclusively on developing the model capabilities, calibration and improvement of the system, and researching climate change data to enhance model assessment capabilities.

If you've worked on risk modelling (Credit risk, mainly corporate / wholesale), asset valuation (CorpFin / M&A, in particular focusing on one/any industry of relevance to the global energy transition such as Oil & Gas, Utilities, Renewables, Automotive etc.), green finance and/or within the sustainability and ESG space and would be interested in joining a growing, renowned and highly innovative team at the forefront of the climate change agenda, please get in touch for a chat to find out more.
