This is an opportunity to contribute to the community within Gloucestershire by becoming an Academy Ambassador at Gloucestershire Learning Alliance. Board meetings are held at GL52 8NN or GL51 8HY when safe to do so.
The Academy Ambassadors programme brings the expertise of the business world onto boards at multi-academy trusts (MATs) throughout the country to raise standards of education and improve the life chances of young people, which is critical to our social and economic success.
The opportunity
The Gloucestershire Learning Alliance started on the 1st November 2013 with three founder schools Bishops Cleeve Primary Academy, Rowanfield Junior School and Springbank Primary Academy. The trust has since grown to support eight academies total, with Longford Park Primary Academy, Rowanfield Infant School, Badsey First School, Tredington Primary School, all becoming a part of the Alliance. Great Oldbury Academy, a free school, is due to open in September 2021.
The trust feels that become an alliance was a natural progression, coinciding with its belief in collaborative learning and collective efficiency, and determination to ensure that more young people receive a great education through Quality First Teaching and Assessment for Learning. Each of the trust's academies continue to strive through effective recruitment and teaching and learning policies, but have also benefitted from the shared capacity of expertise that has significantly impacted on the outcomes it is able to achieve.
The trust operates a number of principles, including but not limited to: Outstanding teaching and pupil outcomes; Clear and simple accountability; Transparent and honest feedback and Successful recruitment of the best candidates at all levels.
