The Business & Opportunity:
Newly created opportunity to become the Company Accountant for a reputable and multi-award winning family owned business. Operating across the agricultural and manufacturing sectors, they supply a wide range of market leading products to the equine and pet food industry, and well-known UK & European Retailers.
Due to their ongoing growth, coupled with launching their own new brand which is opening up new avenues and niches, this represents fantastic timing for a new Company Accountant to play a key role in the next exciting phase of the business. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be part of their small senior management team and take ownership responsibility for everything financial.
Specific Requirement:
You will carry out an all-encompassing role which will include:
* Introducing Financial Controls for the new e-commerce part of the business.
* Managing the companys financial position, recommending any new structures, procedures, improvements and cost savings.
* Being instrumental in new upcoming projects and advising on new purchases.
* Providing detailed analysis on Product Costings.
* Liaising regularly with third parties, such as suppliers, banks and external accountants.
* Monthly Management Accounts, together with meaningful Budgeting & Forecasting.
* Cashflow Management.
* Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet Reports.
* All other accounting related tasks such as Payroll, Accruals & Prepayments, VAT, Bank Allocations etc.
Skills & Experience required:
* Either Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ACMA) or Qualified By Experience.
* Experience from a similar sized SME / OMB / Family owned business.
* A Manufacturing/stock (or closely related) background would prove advantageous, where you have an appreciation of stock and costings.
* Ability to think outside the box and be able to add real value through the exciting times ahead.
* Working knowledge of Xero would help, but is not a pre-requisite.
* Enjoy working in a beautiful, remote, rural setting.
What's on Offer:
* A salary in the region of £30,000-£40,000, dependent on experience.
* Bonus, Pension, 24 day holiday.
