Role/ Department:

The Corporate & Institutional Services, Global Services, and International Audit Team within Audit Services is responsible for providing assurance focused on Northern Trust’s middle and back office operations, which consist of core banking (i.e., loans and deposits) and asset servicing (e.g., custody services, transfer agency, fund accounting). Additionally, team members evaluate and advise on the implementation of new and emerging technologies and product offerings. With this focus, team members have the unique opportunity to develop views toward enterprise risks across global processes and key technologies, drive thought leadership in assessing fraud risks and controls, and create data analytics strategies to increase assurance effectiveness. Team members are encouraged to build authentic relationships, think creatively, and seek emerging trends and develop an insightful point-of-view. In a flexible and delivery driven culture, teams members are required to hold themselves accountable in respect to project deliverables.

This role has a focus on department strategy, initiative roll out and operational excellence.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting the International Strategy and Project Manager on key strategic initiatives globally
  • Challenging the department status quo on operational excellence to drive productivity and efficiency
  • Owning and driving change in specific topics required by Audit Methodology
  • Provide Data Analytics delivery for the Audit Plan in the EMEA region with regular interaction with CGI Data Analytics Consultant in Melbourne, Australia
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects at request of Head C&IS, Global Services and International Audit and CAE.
  • Tracking of progress in line with Bank wide strategic initiatives
  • Regular presentation to management on progress in line with project management and change methodologies
  • Assist in the management of Bath Internship Programme both recruitment and ongoing collaboration with placement students
  • Additional responsibilities that the role identifies as time develops and the department progresses, deemed valuable by management
